My Hot 100 Update

Support Group Time: Are your health goals realistic?

Mine weren't. Although I was losing weight pretty quickly, and based my goals on that, I re-thought them once that "vacation" and the flu hit. My final weight-loss goal was 178 but that's not low enough so I'm changing it to 160 and my ticker above reflects that. Oooh, it doesn't look as pretty and successful. Bummer.

Anyhoo... also revising weight goal for this hot 100 challenge: the goal was to get down to 185 pounds by Dec 31. Changing it to 195 because of my back-sliding and now, all of this fruit and soup and oatmeal that I'm eating to get rid of this flu and sinus infection. So ...

Goal Check:
Weight 195: Current weight is 211.6. ARGH! I'm back up to where I was towards the beginning of October and I hate it! I'm gonna work hard to get back on track. As soon as I kick this flu and sinus infection.

Exercising daily: Doing it. Not timing because it's hard to do big blocks of exercising with this flu and it's accompanying pounding headache but I'm stretching, working my legs and exercising my arms when I can.

Writing: Back to writing when I have moments of lucidity. No timing yet, but close to finishing a gluten-free holiday cookbook. I doubt it will be ready by Thanksgiving (that's just next week) but will definitely be ready by Christmas!

Yum.... making me drool.

Oh wait, that's my flu talking!

Drown the flu bug! ;-)

The cookbook sound nice. :) I like to think my health goals are realistic.

The goal thing is tricky. Some people need grand scale goals others need to set more smaller goals. You have to find what motivates you. Me? I am just nuts. Goals haven;t been my thing, but I think I am going to vow to post a scale shot on my birthday. Maybe that will work as motivation.

I hope you feel better soon! It is so much harder to think about the healthy stuff if I am not feeling well.

Be careful with yourself. Exercising while you're sick can weaken your immune system even more so it could draw out the flu longer than necessary if you're not careful. Love that you revised your goals. I think I need to do the same. I haven't gotten any movement on the scale so far and I'm NOT happy about that.

I think your goal adjustments make total sense. We have to take care of ourselves and not push ourselves too much when our bodies aren't cooperating.

Have a great week Vee. You can do this!
