Exercise - Dumbbells

No, not the kind of person! Those little weight thingies! You grab one in each hand and do all sorts of movements with them.

Lifting weights - general - burns 6 calories per minute
Lifting weights - vigorous - burns 11 calories per minute

Don't have hand weights? I got little 3-pound weights at Wally World (Wal-Mart) for less than $5 each. You could also try a thrift store or garage sale because people give up on diets all of the time. And we sure know that, don't we?

OR....

Next time you empty a half-gallon jug of milk, clean it out and fill it with water or sand. Then use those as your weights. Cost you nothing extra because you were already gonna drink the milk!

Er, it was low-fat, right?

Now... next time you're angry or sad or frustrated or crabby/grumpy, grab up your weights and walk around your house with a purpose. Pump those arms. Stroll quickly through your living room and into your kitchen. Turn on your heel and go back. Go through as many rooms as you can, pumping your arms and getting your blood going. Start with 5 minutes and work your way up to a number that YOU choose.

Do it to music too! It's real fun to get the whole family involved.

Good job!

Side Note: My last two nights of binges (peanut butter and chocolate chips) have stopped the weight loss. That prompted a depression. My ears are still plugged, eyes itchy, throat hurts, sprained arm hurts, and just lethargic. Just wanna go to sleep, but I have so much to do today. Need to put shingles on a dog house to get it ready for the goats this winter. Need to set up grow lights for the tomatoes we brought in last night (and also get rid of the wasp that came in with them). Need to pay bills (with what?!?!). Gotta help my Kid with schoolwork. Should do some writing. Should exercycle. Should do laundry. Should unpack boxes from our move last March coz it's driving me nutso (I can't find anything!).

Have no clue if any of this will get done today. It's hard.... re-finding a lost mojo.

Don't mean to be a downer. Sorry.

You're not a downer!! In fact, I was so enjoying the first part of your post and I learned something new "Wally's World." I saw it on another post and I didn't have a clue what they were talking about.

Anyway, good advice about weight lifting. It's really essential for functional fitness especially as we age.

I was sad to hear about your binge struggles. I can so relate, Vee. But you have been so successful and it seems that these "issues" will always be there in the background, but it will get better, I'm sure.

You can do it. Find your Mojo...I'll be watching you - lol.

Sorry to hear about your pause in weight loss, but don't let two bad days ruin all the hard work you've put in already! This is my first visit to your blog, but I can tell from the ticker at the top that you must have put in a lot of hard work to lose the weight you already lost. Even if these two binges were really grand (10,000 calories each) you would only be gaining 4lbs. That's less than 5% of the weight you've already lost. In the grand scheme of things, two bad nights will not ruin you unless you let them ruin your mindset, which you wont!

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep on track, I look forward to reading more!

Okay, so you ate peanut butter and chocolate chips. You can't do anything about it. What you can do is decided not to do it again and have another great day. Once you have a great day, have another and another until your mojo walks up to you and askes "what's up"? It will happen.

This weight loss thing isn't entirely linear. We have to forgive ourselves when we stumble. I've stumbled a lot!
