Do you have access to an exercycle? Here's what you can burn:
Stationary bicycle / spinning - moderate, 12 calories per minute
Stationary bicycle / spinning - vigorous, 20 calories per minute
My goal is usually 10 calories per minute which is slower but this way, I can do it longer. How fast do YOU go?

I'm taking JackSh*t's challenge: I'm not a runner and only decided yesterday to look for a "walk" to do next summer, but I have an exercycle so I'll exercycle 5 miles on Sunday, November 14 2010. Anybody want to sponsor me to go over 5 miles?
Thanks for the challenge, JackSh*t and Kelly!!
Yet another delay

I honestly started back on my writing, while preparing to get the house
ready to sell and monitoring my son's epilepsy ... then it happened.
Another lump ...

I shoot for a caloric burn of 700-1000 calories when I'm at the gym. The less time I have, the more jacked-up the exercise. My recent find has been the Incline Trainer, a treadmill that tilts up 30 degrees. Just walking it burns more for me than running on the regular one.
I normally burn 10 cals per min on my elliptical and like you I'm able to do it longer that way. I have a friend who can go vigorously on it and I'm always amazed.
At my weight, I apparently burn about 250 calories in 30 minutes of stationary cycling. Probably even less considering how old and decrepit my stationary bike is. :)
Thanks so much for participating!
