Recipe: Crockpot Pot Roast

Take a big ole chunk of beef that's been discounted and is a day away from expiration (orange sticker from King Sooper/Kroger). Add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the bottom of the crockpot. Fit the pot roast into the crockpot - slice it up if necessary. Add about 2 tablespoons of low sodium tamari sauce (no wheat soy sauce), garlic powder and onion powder. Put it on low and let it cook all night. Try not to dream about beef.

At about 5 a.m. in the morning, when getting up to take the puppy out and feed it, move the pot roast around a little and add about 3 tablespoons barbeque sauce, then let it cook when you take another nap while puppy drops from exhaustion (playing). By 8 a.m. it (ooops, the pot roast, not the puppy) is ready for eating ... and it's so tender and moist and yummy!

p.s. Sometimes I do the same thing for chicken - yum!

I love ANY meat in the crock pot! I make BBQ pulled pork sandwiches in there that are to die for!

:) YUM!

Hilarious! The dog probably wouldn't taste quite as good as the pot roast, anyway.

Although I used to enjoy hot dogs before I switched to a mostly vegetarian diet.

Best wishes to you!

I think my head's been up my butt because I missed your last three posts. Just got caught up so I'm going to comment on all three of them here.

Yes, I've had an MRI. I had a cyst on my spine that had to have pictures taken of before surgery. It was when I was my heaviest and I know what you mean about not being able to move. Those things just aren't made for big people. Thank goodness I'm not claustraphobic. I can only imagine what you must have been feeling. I'm so sorry it affected you that way. When mine was finished the girl told me to get up and I could go. I couldn't move because of the back pain and I had to yell to her (she'd already left the room) to come help be up. I had to be taken to the car in a wheel chair after that hour laying flat on my back and not moving. I don't ever want another one either, but for different reasons. Good news on the relusts.

Love the pics of Sparky. He is adorable. Judging from the look on his face with your other dog, I think he knows that the blue is for him but just doesn't want to upset "big" sis by taking it.

I know what you mean with nibbling on the beef all day. I did that myself the last time I fixed one. I even fixed it just for me!! The cramps you were having (hope their gone by now) may be from the roast. Sometimes when I have something like that that I haven't had for a while it gives me the cramps.

Hope you're better today and enjoying your family time.
