awesome job at writing everything down! I did it the first year of my journey and it helped so much...to hold myself accountable. Now that I'm training again, I am going back to writing everything down - we'll have to hold each other accountable, huh?

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Yelling definitely counts (says the mother of two sons). You are off to a great start - glad to see you on this journey!

Thanks for stopping by and giving me a shout.

Good job of journalling all your foods. That is the one thing that I HAVE to do or it all gets away from me.

You go, girl!! You can do it!!

You can definitely do this. Just keep focused and keep posting.

You mentioned you can't do calorie counting, but if I can offer a word of unsolicited advice, I would recommend at the very least calorie tracking. There's a subtle but important difference: counting is where you ration out what you're going to eat and stop when you hit your limit for the day. Tracking is where you just do whatever feels right, but you write it down afterward. If you're under, you're under. If you're over, so what. But it's all about spotting patterns. It's worked wonders for me since I started last July.

Thank you so much for all of the great comments. I'll re-think the calorie tracking, Charlie, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet. Any time my mind thinks about specifics about "dieting"... it decides it needs a chocolate cake or white castle cheeseburgers. Hmmm... argh! Vee

But the weird thing is? Go ahead and have the chocolate cake or the slider. As long as you write it down. You may find that the very act of doing this starts to change the way you think about things.

Here's my take on it from last month:
