Sunday Silly Move - Punch

Everyone I know has had at least ONE bad breakup in their lives. A traumatic relationship that really messed you up. It maybe even put you on the road to fatness.

Now that you're working to get healthy, it's time to put that relationship where it belongs.

Where? In the trash.

Yeah, that too. But before you do, find an old pic of him or her, or draw something that represents him/her. YOU know who it's supposed to be.

Attach it to a punching bag. Don't have one? Attach it to a pillow and hang that against a wall.

Now.. PUNCH IT! That's right. Hit the spit out of it. Knock it dead. Make it hurt. Smack it around all over the place. Yell at it. Scream at it. Cry at it. And hit it some more. Place TEMPORARY blame on it. Get your anger out (while getting a good workout). Get it ALL out.

Then release it. You're a big girl (or boy). You can take ownership of your life starting NOW. That person didn't make you fat. YOU did. One bite at a time. So now that you've beaten that person up (figuratively), throw him/her in the trash, and start anew. As of this moment, YOU own your life.

Right?

========================

And taking ownership of my life is what I'm working on. Not only in relationships, but also this craving thing.

I did real good yesterday. We got up early, milked the goat, I made cheese, and then we dove right in to our list of chores. Moved pallets for goat houses, moved the goat houses, boarded up the exposed walls of our chicken coops. I also transplanted squash and zucchini plants from outside, and started seeds for green beans, bell peppers, carrots, lettuce and scallions. I also hung some grow lights inside so my potted plants (including lots of tomatoes) will continue to grow through the winter.

Then lunch with mom-in-law... I didn't go overboard on the cucumber/tomato salad OR the pot roast OR the bbq sauce. And when she and Hubby ate the apple-cinnamon muffins and the chocolate cupcakes I made, I didn't even feel tempted to grab any. She took leftovers with her, including the stuff I made on Friday for the person who was supposed to trim our goats' hooves (who never did show up).

Really proud of myself. I moved a LOT, had to use my new muscles (!) a lot, and controlled my eating.

How is YOUR weekend going?

Congratulations! It sounds like you had a nice day, and were really restrained and controlled with what you ate. Its so easy when family are around to take it as a 'carte blanche' to eat whatever, but just because there's a few more people round the table doesn't mean you can eat for two! (its one of my worst habits)

My pillow will be getting punched shortly :D

Good job on kicking those cravings to the curb. Not an easy thing to do but totally necessary to be successful with this lifestyle. :) WTG!

"As of this moment, YOU own your life"

Love this! Each and every moment we should be saying this. :)
