Day 40 Sat Weight Loss Again!

Weighed first thing this morning, and woo-hoo! Weight is 240.0 ... a loss of 2.2 pounds since Thursday, for a total net loss of .8 for the week. All right! This calorie counting thing ... although a HUGE pain in the butt ... is totally worth it. Guess I was way underestimating how many calories I was taking in.

So... started this day feeling very positive (although our little bug is still here: headache, achey, sick stomach).

Breakfast: 2 pieces of bacon, 11 sweet red cherries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 wedge LC lite swiss cheese, one tablespoon of the cheese I had just made (had to taste for seasoning)

Lunch: medium apple, 9 rice crackers with 2 Tbs peanut butter, 1 Tbs walnuts, 2 quarts of iced tea

Dinner: Village Inn: garden side salad with 2 cucumber slices and 1 small wedge of tomato, 3 slices bacon, 2 boiled eggs, 4 tablespoons thousand island dressing

Snack at 8:40 p.m.: Because I had a few more calories left, I had 2 tsp of my homemade cheese! Yum!

Beverages: water, tea, diet mango tea (bought)

Today's Numbers:
Carbs: 110.6
Fat: 95.9
Calories: 1478.8
Exercise on exercycle: didn't

Actually slept until alarm for milking went off at 7:40. I never sleep that late! Guess I needed to. Up, weighed (yahoo!), got ready, milked, strained, made cheese, pasteurized milk for drinking and added vanilla, then started my blogging and adding my food to my spreadsheet.

When everyone was ready, we gave some of the leftover whey (from making cheese) to the chickens, then headed off to the fair (packed lunch and drinks for us all). Didn't like the first fair (too small) so we went to another fair too. LOTS of walking (about 5 hours worth), seeing other people's livestock, canned goodies, quilts... I'm sorry, but I'm a sap for this stuff!

So proud of myself. Let my Kid have a wheat-day so he got a funnel cake. I even held it, and tore off a piece for Hubby and DIDN'T LICK MY FINGERS! I didn't buy any snacks ... no ice cream, not even a sno-cone. When I was hungry, we stopped and I ate what I packed. I even had more stamina than usual... even more than Hubby who had to sit down for a while.

After the second fair, we went to Village Inn for dinner. Why don't they have a nutrition menu yet? I asked and they said they were working on it. Ah, come on! This late in the game? Sad. So sad. But I think I made a pretty decent choice.

Home. Milked the goat, strained, and refrigerated. Got more hay for the goats from the barn to the pen (consider it a good weight-lifting exercise!). Then took corn tortillas and bread out to the goats and chickens. They sure do like their snacks! Put the chickens back in their pen, and came in to calculate my calories, etc. for the day. Figured I was a little low (I want 2 days a week to be "high" calorie days: around 1450 instead of 1200) so I ate some of my homemade cheese.

Whew! What a day! I am tired, and tummy feels a bit funky, plus the headache is still kinda there. I'm gonna shower (coz ... whew! I smell like a barn) then go hit the hay. Pun intended.

Hooray! I like doing these calorie checks from time to time. It's sooo easy to let them creep up, even with healthy foods. Good for you for buckling down and doing something outside your 'want to' zone.

Great job on the loss! Calorie counting becomes 2nd nature after a while. Portion creep is so insidious that you just don't notice it.

I remember Village Inn from when we lived in Colorado. The pies!

Cammy: it is definitely outside of my "want to" zone ... it's really time consuming!

Lori: pies!?! NO, I have a hard enough time when we're there but to think about them... NO! French silk. Mixed berry. Chocolate peanut butter. Ah man... my teeth hurt just thinking about it.

Thanks for the votes of confidence. I feel like I'm past the plateu. Vee
