Farmers Market

Surprisingly I've eaten kinda ok this weekend. I've drunk a LOT of liquids. Had a bowl of cereal. Had a couple of protein drinks that Hubby and Tween made me intake when I was in too much pain (pulled back out) to eat.

Today we were on our way to Beau Jo's (spell?) for Father's Day - they serve gluten-free pizza. On the way, we passed by a shopping mall where, to our great surprise and thrill, they had started a farmer's market!

Since our strawberry plants were denuded by that thieving neighbor this weekend (yes, they had strawberries lush and ripe and ready to eat but we went out to pick and they had "disappeared" - no, it wasn't birds!). That being said, I was craving a fresh fruit fix. We made a u-turn and headed to the farmer's market. Here's what we bought:
  • $5 bag - fill it as full as you can for only $5 - potatoes, snow peas, tomatoes, onions, zucchini, yellow bell peppers, lettuce and jalapenos... that's what WE chose.

  • nectarines

  • cherries

  • goat cheese
Yummy! $22 for all of that - the cheese alone was $7.00. I had fresh yellow and fresh red cherries and snow peas for dinner. Didn't feel like much else but I'm happy!
