I'm Back!

Sorry about the long silence. Parting with the dogs was very difficult, made even more so by the chihuahua having a heat stroke before Hubby even got home to take them. I don't know if you've ever seen a dog having a heat stroke, but her front legs locked up, and she couldn't stand up or even sit. Her panting was so hard and heavy that I thought for sure her little heart was going to explode. As soon as Hubby got here, we ran her to the vet, costing another small fortune to bring her back around.

She was better by the next day, so Hubby took them to a shelter. We are fervently praying that they get adopted, and soon.

We made the right choice. We have no air conditioning, and our house gets very hot, so the chihuahua would have kept on getting too hot, and the malamute would have soon followed. Despite our efforts to keep them cool with lots of water and baths, we would not have been successful over the long haul.

Thanks to all of the support through this difficult time. I needed your kind words of encouragement.

So... it's back to the three of us: Hubby, me and Tween. Hubby took a couple of days off, going back to work on Thursday, so we're spending some great time together, and getting some chores around the house done.

But... it's hard to eat right although I really am trying. Tween is staying on the organic no-processed foods path tho. It's easier to tell him what to do and prepare his meals than to do it myself. I'm back on the path as of right this minute!

Glad you made it through that hard time - I hope life is a lot less stressful for you now. Don't worry, I'm sure the pups will be adopted soon. Now's the time to put the focus back onto yourself - hugs to you, Vee!

All the best to you and your family. I know giving up the pups wasn't an easy thing to do, but you do have to try and remember you did what was best for everyone. They will, no doubt, be adopted and go to good homes. Now's the time to focus on yourself and your family.

Hugs, you did the right thing - I know it was hard, but you had to do it. Both breeds are popular dogs, so I am sure they will be re-homed soon.

Hope you and your son are still doing OK otherwise.
